Working Principle of Electronic Ballast

The core working principle of an electronic ballast:
It converts mains AC power (50/60Hz) into high-frequency AC power, providing stable starting voltage and operating current for UV lamps, achieving integrated control of ignition, preheating, constant-power operation, and protection.
Brief workflow:
  1. Rectification & Filtering

    Converts mains 220V/380V AC into stable DC voltage.

  2. Inversion & Frequency Conversion

    Converts DC to high-frequency AC (20kHz–100kHz) through a switching circuit to drive the lamp.

  3. Filament Preheating & Ignition

    Preheats the lamp filaments first, then outputs a high-voltage pulse to ionize the gas inside the tube and light the lamp.

  4. Constant Power Control

    Monitors current and voltage in real time to maintain stable lamp power and consistent UV intensity.

  5. Protection & Dimming

    Automatically cuts off output in abnormal conditions; supports power adjustment via external signals for energy-saving dimming.
