Overpowered ballast for low-power lamp
Excessive working current causes overheating of filaments and tube wall, severely damaging UV luminous coating and quartz glass. The light decay rate is 2–3 times faster than normal matching condition, with rapid blackening at both tube ends blocking UV transmittance.
Underpowered ballast for high-power lamp
Insufficient ignition voltage leads to constant flickering and repeated arc impact, wearing out the luminous layer unevenly. Overheating of the ballast raises ambient temperature and further accelerates tube aging, resulting in 1.5 times faster light attenuation.
