What are the differences between low-pressure high-output lamps and medium-pressure lamps?

  1. LPHO (Low Pressure High Output)Monochromatic @254nm, high UV conversion efficiency, long service life and low power consumption. Only for pathogen inactivation, photoreactivation risk exists. Widely used for drinking water, purified water and aquaculture with good UVT. Reactor requires many lamps and longer vessel.

  2. MP (Medium Pressure)Polychromatic spectrum from 200–400nm. Very high power per lamp, strong suppression of photoreactivation. Capable of chloramine and partial TOC degradation. Disadvantages: low germicidal efficiency, high heat generation, shorter lamp life and higher fouling tendency. Ideal for swimming pool, large flow wastewater and AOP advanced oxidation process.
