Typical Malfunctions of Ballasts

No lamp ignition: no striking high voltage, lamp totally off even with new lamp

Hard ignition / preheat failure: long preheat, filament dim, fail to strike

Flickering & intermittent cut-off: unstable arc, auto shutdown after running

Low output power: lamp lights normally but low UV intensity

Frequent thermal lockout: overheat alarm, shut down when hot

Burnt components: fuse blown, burnt smell, carbon trace

Abnormal buzzing / hissing noise

Alarm / communication signal fault

Overcurrent output: lamp burns out quickly, end blackening
