Cut off power completely
Disconnect all power and lamp wires before testing. Never test with power on.
Remove all external loads
Disconnect UV lamps and external control cables; do not test with any load connected.
Use the correct testing instrument
Adopt a 500V megohmmeter. Do not use excessively high voltage range to avoid component breakdown.
Keep the surface dry
The enclosure, terminals and circuit board must be dry. Moisture will cause low insulation readings.
Wait for full curing
Make sure conformal coating and potting glue are completely cured before testing.
Correct wiring method
Short all input and output terminals together; connect megohmmeter L to terminals and E to metal enclosure ground.
Avoid touching live parts
Do not touch probe metal ends or bare terminals during the test to prevent electric shock.
Discharge after testing
Internal residual electricity will remain; fully discharge the terminals after measurement.
Do not test in bad conditions
Avoid testing in rainy days or high humidity environment; dry the ballast first.
Do not power on if unqualified
If insulation resistance is below standard, do not install or power on; re-dry and redo waterproof insulation.
