Fundamental solution
Replace the ballast with one matching the lamp’s rated power to operate the lamp under standard current and temperature.
Temporary solutions if ballast cannot be replaced
(1) Limit operating current
Add high-frequency current-limiting inductors on the output circuit to reduce lamp current to rated value. Do not use ordinary resistors.
(2) Optimize heat dissipation
Install cooling fans, expand ventilation space, avoid dense lamp arrangement to lower tube temperature.
(3) Adopt intermittent operation
Equip time controller to stop equipment regularly for cooling, avoid non-stop 24h running.
(4) Stabilize input voltage
Install voltage stabilizer to prevent extra overcurrent caused by high grid voltage.
(5) Regular inspection
Check blackening at tube ends frequently and replace aged lamps in advance; clean dust on tube surface.
Note: These measures only slow down aging instead of eliminating damage fundamentally. The lamp still has a much shorter service life than matched configuration, only for temporary use.
