How to Ensure Stable Radiation Intensity of UV Disinfection Lamps?

  • Use high-quality lamps and matched ballasts
Adopt qualified original lamps with dedicated electronic ballasts to ensure stable voltage and current, avoiding power fluctuation.
  • Control lamp temperature within the optimal range
Ensure sufficient water cooling to prevent overheating or overcooling, keeping the lamp at its most efficient operating temperature.
  • Clean quartz sleeves regularly to avoid scaling blockage
Scale, rust and organic matter can greatly block UV light. Clean sleeves mechanically or chemically regularly to maintain high transmittance.
  • Reduce frequent switching and keep continuous operation
Frequent on/off causes electrode aging and faster UV attenuation. Continuous operation helps maintain stable intensity.
  • Stabilize power supply with voltage regulators
Voltage fluctuations directly lead to unstable radiation intensity. Voltage stabilizers are recommended for critical applications.
  • Install online UV intensity monitoring system
Monitor intensity in real time, adjust power automatically or alarm for lamp replacement in time.
  • Improve water quality and increase UV transmittance (UVT)
Reduce turbidity and organic matter through pretreatment to minimize UV absorption by water.
  • Perform regular maintenance and replace lamps on time
UV intensity decreases irreversibly as lamps age. Lamps must be replaced at rated service life (e.g. 5000/8000 hours).
