Low‑Pressure High‑Output UV
Advantages
Monochromatic 253.7 nm wavelength, excellent germicidal efficiency with low energy consumption.
Long lamp service life 9,000–12,000 hours, less frequent replacement and low maintenance workload.
Low operating temperature, stable thermal performance and good tolerance to frequent on‑off cycles.
Low operating noise and simple cooling requirement.
Lower capital cost and consumable cost.
Disadvantages
Only for disinfection. Cannot decompose chloramines or organics, unable to remove chlorine odour in swimming pools.
No AOP advanced oxidation capability to degrade persistent trace contaminants.
Limited maximum UV power per lamp. More lamps are required for very high flow rate projects.
Medium‑Pressure UV
Advantages
Broad continuous spectrum 180~400 nm, providing disinfection add AOP advanced oxidation.
Breaks down chloramines in pool water to eliminate irritating chlorine smell; degrades some organic compounds.
High UV power per lamp. Fewer lamps required for high flow treatment, compact footprint.
Disadvantages
Shorter lamp lifespan 5,000–8,000 hours for premium imported lamps; 3,000–5,000 hours for domestic lamps , frequent lamp replacement.
Operating temperature up to 600~800℃, strict cooling requirement. Frequent switching will drastically reduce lamp life.
Higher energy consumption, higher equipment price and spare part cost.
High thermal load, demanding high temperature resistance for reactor chamber and seals.
