Standard domestic lamps: 1,000–5,000 hours (continuous operation)
Premium domestic / imported lamps: 5,000–8,000 hours (common warranty: 5,000 hours)
High-end / special applications: 8,000–9,000 hours (under good maintenance and stable operation)
Universal criterion: Lamps must be replaced when UV intensity drops to 70% of the initial value.
Most systems are equipped with UV intensity monitoring and will alarm below the threshold.
Switching frequency: Frequent cold starts significantly shorten life; continuous operation is recommended.
Operating temperature: Ideal range is 600–750℃; overheating causes electrode burnout and quartz aging.
Water quality & maintenance: Scale on quartz sleeves causes overheating and faster decay; regular cleaning extends life.
Electrical matching: Ballast current must be rated; overcurrent damages electrodes.
8 hours per day: 1–2.7 years
12 hours per day: 0.7–1.8 years
24-hour continuous operation: 4–10 months
