Typical Application Scenarios,Application Analysis of Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfectors in the Secondary Water Supply Industry

Combined with different water supply modes of secondary water supply systems, the application scenarios of UV disinfectors are mainly divided into the following three categories, which can be flexibly configured according to actual needs.

1. Secondary Pressurized Water Supply Systems in High-Rise Communities

This is the most mainstream application scenario. Most high-rise communities adopt the "water tank + variable-frequency constant-pressure water pump" water supply mode. UV disinfectors can be connected in series between the water tank outlet and the pressurized water pump to disinfect the water stored in the tank, kill microorganisms bred during retention, and then transport it to residents' homes through pressurized pipelines. In this scenario, the equipment needs to adapt to the flow fluctuations of variable-frequency water supply and have automatic adjustment capabilities to ensure stable disinfection effect under different water use peaks.

2. Small-Scale Secondary Water Supply Facilities (Single Buildings, Remote Areas)

For single-family villas, small office buildings, or remote areas with insufficient coverage of municipal pipe networks, secondary water supply systems are small in scale and limited in space. Relying on the advantages of compact size and easy installation, UV disinfectors can be directly integrated next to water supply equipment to replace traditional chemical disinfection. For such scenarios, it is recommended to select integrated UV disinfection equipment to simplify the installation process, and at the same time match small-scale pretreatment devices to ensure that the influent water quality meets the standards.

3. Emergency Disinfection Scenarios for Secondary Water Supply

When water quality abnormalities occur in secondary water supply systems due to pipe bursts, tank pollution, etc., portable UV disinfectors can be temporarily activated for emergency treatment to quickly kill pathogenic microorganisms and shorten water outage time. In emergency scenarios, the irradiation dose needs to be increased to ensure thorough disinfection, and water quality should be continuously monitored until microbial indicators meet the standards before resuming water supply.
