The future development of advanced oxidation processes in advanced drinking water purification will focus on green and low-carbon operation, high efficiency with fewer byproducts, process integration, modular compact design, and intelligent automatic control. AOPs will be further applied to remove emerging contaminants and provide high-quality safe drinking water, with wider use in distributed water supply, rural water treatment and water reuse scenarios.
