Factors Affecting the Lifetime of Medium-Pressure UV Lamps

  • Frequent switching 
    Frequent cold starts will cause electrode loss and greatly shorten lamp life.
  • Operating temperature 
    Too high or too low temperature will affect lamp performance and accelerate aging.
  • Water quality and scaling 
    Scale on the quartz sleeve causes overheating of the lamp and reduces UV transmittance.
  • Ballast matching
    Unstable current or unmatched ballast will damage electrodes and shorten life.
  • Lamp quality and material
